Outside of faith or church, what interests, activities, or experiences have made you feel like you found “your people”?
Read together
Psalm 122
Discuss
How would you articulate the central reason for going to church? Why do we often miss this?
Why does the author say there is gladness in the house of the Lord? What are some moments where that’s been more clear to you?
How does our identity as part of a “tribe” or a “people” shape how we see church?
What kind of tribe is this? What makes it what it is?
How do diversity and unity work together within the/our church?
Why should “the church” and “peace” go together?
What would a greater peace look like in the church?
We can’t coerce, manipulate, or manufacture faith in people. How do we maintain a healthy desire to see people come to faith and enter our community without trying to force that outcome? Are there dangers in trying to force it?
Pray
Is there anyone you feel you should be more intentional in stepping toward and inviting them into community? Pray for each other to be courageous and faithful in gospel witness, hospitality, and invitation.
Pray for the new people God is already bringing into our community—that God would open there eyes to know him and would connect them to his body.
