Pete Schemm

Lead Pastor

Pete and Vicki have enjoyed ministry at CSBC since October of 2010. They have eight children: Charis, Colby, Jacob, Zachary, Parker, Anderson, Mary Kathryn, and Chase. Before coming here, Pete taught at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He co-founded the Bonhoeffer Haus — an onsite, seminary apprentice program for future pastors, church-planters, and missionaries. He enjoys sports, hiking, biking, and just about anything outdoors.

Chuck Stanley

Pastor of Administration

Chuck spent his early career in business consulting and sales before being called to local church ministry. Chuck and Susan have five children, three of which are grown. They have served at CSBC together since August of 2011. The Stanleys enjoy family beach trips and the outdoors, and inherited their love for Clemson football from Chuck's dad.

Jon Rice

Pastor of Worship & Music

Jon has led worship at the Cave since 2012. He and Brenda have been married for 38 years and raised five children: Jonathan, Aaron, Hannah, Natalie, and Rachel. They are now discovering the joys of grand-parenting. They are avid Steeler fans and enjoy gardening and hosting people in their home.

Chip Baggett

Children, Students & Families

Chip has been serving CSBC since 2012, alongside his wife Lauren and their three children: Will, Nora Kate, and Luke. He enjoys time with family and friends, especially outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and grilling out — mostly grilling out! Chip counts it a great joy to minister to families in the Roanoke Valley.

Allen James

Community & Missions

Allen and Stepheny have been married for 30+ years. They raised three boys while serving as international missionaries for 20 years prior to coming to CSBC in 2015. He would love to take you to explore the beauty of the valley through mountain biking, hiking, or kayaking.

Michael Wu

Pastor of Chinese Fellowship

Michael has served at CSBC as pastor of the Chinese Fellowship for 10 years. He and his wife Julia are both originally from Taiwan and have been married for 24 years. They are proud parents to Melissa and Megan. Michael enjoys cars and the Dallas Cowboys.

Ministry Directors

Hunter Bolton

Communications Director

Hunter has served as Communications Director since September 2022. He has been married to his wife, Makenzie, since May of 2022 and loves taking pictures of God's creation and filming weddings. He also enjoys camping when able to!

Amanda Dalton

Preschool Director

Amanda has been on staff since 2022 as the Preschool Director. She is married to Brad Dalton and has two children, Eisley and Felix, plus a dog. Amanda loves children and will help out any way she can!

Cora Esparza

Student Director

Cora has been an active member of our church community since 2022 and has served in various roles, including as our Lead Summer Intern. She brings a strong passion for youth ministry and lots of energy to this position.

Susan Stanley

Children's Director

Susan has served as Children's Director since April of 2015. She is married to Chuck and has five children, ranging from adulthood to elementary age. Susan is an incredible resource to our families and has a nursing background in pediatric intensive care.
